About WJD Foundation
Why did WJD foundation start?
Won John Kim was a COO of T1 Entertainment and Sports in Korea. But he passed away while playing basketball with colleagues on July 16, 2021 in Seoul.
Although his life was short (only 40), he left many good memories for his family, friends, church members, and many other people who need help. His life pursued the discipleship from the bible verse, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you” John 15:12
He upheld this verse by helping others and many people’s testimony proved that.
We would like to follow his spirit, heart, and belief through WJD Foundation like a good Samaritan. This foundation was announced at his 1st memorial service on July 16, 2022.
Who is going to participate in this Foundation?
It has started with family donations as seed money but anyone who agrees with his spirit is welcome to join. WJD Foundation is registered to BC government (#S0076570) and will be issued tax exemption for donations.
This fund will be used mainly as scholarships for students who need financial aid and salvation funds for other countries. We will also support Korean communities and other ethnic groups who need help.
WJD foundation will be doing business as ‘Love Vancouver’ (www.lovevan.org). ‘Love Vancouver” is a sister organization of ‘Love Toronto’ and collaborating closely for contents and supports.
